POSITION SHIFT (DAYS & HOURS)
Wednesday - Saturday from 6:00am - 4:30pm EST
SUMMARY
The primary function is the maintenance, repair, calibration and improvement of on-site equipment, utilities, facilities and instruments in support of production operations, manufacturing, utility, and R&D (labs, warehouses, office facilities). This team member will perform mechanical or electrical support within the maintenance department (metrology support may be required depending on the location).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to AbbVie’s code of conduct and safety policies. Ensure that GxP and safe work policies and procedures are followed/maintained in accordance with established company policies. Compliance with safety policy necessitates wearing appropriate PPE, completing required EHS training, identifying and submitting “Safety Opportunities”/“Near-Misses”, and promoting a safety culture by supporting safety related programs (e.g., actively participating in JSAs/HSAs). Complete training on time.
- Maintains the function of department assets to ensure production goals and quality standards are met.
- Maintains quality standards when populating or executing relevant documentation (i.e., WO's, JP's, SOPs, etc.). Ensures that documentation is maintained (e.g., attachments doc forwarded appropriately), identifies inconsistencies and/or errors in relevant documentation and punctually fixes errors with supervisor. Prepares necessary documentation for correction of errors. Accurately documents all maintenance activity in CMMS.
- Independently performs senior level maintenance work including but not limited to: machine lubrication, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and fabrication.
- Provides troubleshooting, preventive and demand maintenance work on a variety of equipment and systems including centrifuges, compressors, gear boxes, autoclaves, washers, blowers, mixers, reactors, pumps, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc. along with other equipment related to production operations or facility operations. May perform pipefitting, welding, fabrication, building maintenance and/or other work on projects. Work may be electrical or mechanical.
- Additionally, performs preventive maintenance work on plant equipment including but not limited to; machine lubrication, inspection, repair, and light fabrication , air handlers, and utility system components.
- As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways. Works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.
- Often acts as a facilitator and team leader. Provides valuable input on new Job Plans and/or Data Sheets. Capable of training others on complex tasks. Actively seeks out continuous learning opportunities and trainings. Being a certified trainer is a plus.
- Leads safety-related teams (e.g., being an EH&S Activity Coordinator, leading JSAs, etc.). Ensures that peers submit “Safety Opportunities” and “Near-Misses” when observed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- HS Diploma/GED and 3+ years of work experience related to any of the following: mechanical trades, electrical up to 13kv, HVAC/R, PLC / Controls, Instrumentation, welding, machining and fabrication.
- CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) or equivalent accredited certification a plus.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in multiple skilled trade disciplines as defined by the department skills matrix including Predictive Maintenance Technologies.
- Knowledge and ability to apply proper hand tools in an industrial setting. Knowledge and ability to use power tools (such as electric drills, drill press, saws, grinders, pneumatic and hydraulic tools).
- Knowledge of related cGMP requirements and applicable safety regulations
- Ability to accurately use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, scales).
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Windows).
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
