This position will assist the plant with all matters related to excellent equipment maintenance. This includes a mix of coordinating efforts of others, but also hands on maintenance at times. This position also coordinates the installation, maintenance and repair work in the plant, leads a team of technicians, regularly inspect sites, execute work as necessary, maintain equipment and assign workers to various projects.
Job Responsibilities
Trains maintenance department staff while organizing and overseeing the schedules and work of maintenance staff. Provides feedback to Plant with performance evaluations. Recommends discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Assist the Plant Supervisor with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department; including performing mechanical preventative maintenance and repair of building, equipment, tanks and machinery, and install new equipment as required. Outsource contractor assistance as needed with approval. Initiate changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the plant. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving maintenance related work problems. Ensure that work orders are performed to meet production schedules. Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to perform a job.
Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed in a timely manner. Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of building systems such as mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
- Work in compliance with Safety/OSHA, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

Certificates
Have a welding certificate that meets requirements for structural welding.
Education and/or Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in mechanical maintenance; or five to seven years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge and/or experience with PM systems. Electrical experience and millwright certification preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
