The Watering Bowl, a cage-free doggy daycare and boarding facility with 3 locations: Brentwood, the Grove, and St. Peters, is looking for a dependable, reliable and self-motivated full-time or part-time Maintenance Technician.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ongoing Maintenance Duties

• Change HVAC filters and inspect units on weekly/biweekly basis to maintain efficient operation of equipment.
• Clear drain traps from hair on monthly basis to prevent clogs.
• Paint doors, fences and walls as needed, on a regular basis, to maintain professional appearance.
• Blow off parking lots and remove debris on weekly basis to maintain professional appearance.
• Haul cardboard to recycling center on weekly basis.
• Minor repairs to rubber floor to provide quality surface for dogs and staff.
• Clean and maintain ceiling fans and oscillating fans.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning equipment (door knobs, gates, mop buckets, etc.)
• Move equipment & supplies between locations as needed.
• Maintain an organized work space and work vehicle.

Special Projects (Preferred Additional Skillsets)

• Tuckpointing of interior and exterior brick at Dog Grove facility.
• Mounting of miscellaneous equipment as needed (ex: blow dryers, mirrors, fans, freezer strips, leash hooks, etc.)
• Minor repairs to bathing tubs (ex: removing and applying caulk, repairs to drain hair trap, etc.)
• Minor roof repairs (apply silicone to potential leaks, etc.)
• Replace basic electrical switches, outlets and fixtures.
• Minor plumbing work (ex: toilet repairs, replace faucets, snake drains if capable, etc.)
• Repairs to turf in play yard.
• Some fabrication to overcome unique challenges as they arise.
• Other duties as directed/assigned or as the needs come up.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Two years related experience (preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• The candidate must have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation and the ability to work at all 3 locations.
• This position may require some after hours or weekend availability.
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Willingness to help out as a Daycare Attendant when needed.
