Works on general maintenance/construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Performs daily and weekly facility inspections to ensure that grounds, facilities and work areas are maintained to standard.
• Inspects rooms to assure quality standard and proper preparation before guests arrive.
• Ensure proper usage and care of all property, equipment and supplies.
• Perform scheduled general maintenance at Main House and related party facilities.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on renovations, furnishings, fencing, irrigation and landscaping.
• Cut lawns using hand and power mower.
• Trim edge around walks, flowerbed and roadways.
• Clear grounds, remove and dispose litter.
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and climb ladder and remove and dispose branches.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees and shrubs using gardening tools.
• Perform maintenance duties using tractor equipment with attachments such as mowers and auger.
• Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mowers and spreaders using hand tools and power tools.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Job experience.
• Experience with lawn maintenance and power mowers.
• Past experience using tractor equipment with attachments.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

• Must be capable of driving a vehicle, tractor or 4-wheeler and must maintain a current driver’s license.
• Requires ability to read, write, understand and follow instructions from a supervisor in English or Spanish.
• Requires ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
• Requires ability to understand and comply with posted rules and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS (Lifting, Bending, Stretching, etc.)

• Requires the ability to lift up and carry up to 40-100 pounds daily.
• Ability to walk 4-5 miles per day.
• Must be capable of manual labor to include painting, fencing, carpentry, plumbing, ditch digging, post hole digging, driving steel posts and working on the roofs of buildings.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work is performed outdoors in various field locations on ranch property.
• Requires exposure to all temperature and weather extremes (i.e., heat, rain, wind, cold and dusty conditions), moving equipment, loud noises, wetness, dust, fumes and requires walking on soft muck and hard and uneven surfaces.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS

Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with others.

Must be able to accept corrective criticism from supervisor.

Must be willing to take on a variety of assignments as assigned by management on an as-needed basis within the department and within other areas of King Ranch if necessary.
