Description: As the Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for periodic maintenance and preventative maintenance repairs of machinery, mechanical equipment, while providing supervision, direction, and support to facility maintenance team members.

Education: *High school diploma required. Technical training, NITEC and/or vocational certificate in relevant discipline (mechanical/electrical/ chemical) or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: 3 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience required. Knowledge of machinery in a manufacturing environment/prior experience on working with CMMS and MS Office related experience preferred. Maintain and ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment, completing routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, coordinating vendors for specialized maintenance and repair.
- Make recommendations for plant and equipment improvements to improve reliability and availability of equipment.
- Maintain safety of machinery by perform routine inspections and risk assessment of maintenance activities in conjunction with other stakeholders like engineers, operators, EHS personnel and provide feedback on maintenance issues and trends associated with failures and root causes.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and maintenance supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. Knowledge of mechanical operating systems of gas, diesel and natural gas engines and motors.
- Mechanical abilities to perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
- Basic knowledge of fabrication, welding and machining
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work from drawing and sketches.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other machinery.
- Ability to operate hand tools.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Ability to conduct self in a respectful and appropriate manner.
- Ability to safely perform tasks and produce a quality product in an efficient and productive manner to meet schedule.
- Ability to reason and apply principles of logic to a wide range of factors when monitoring and working on jobs.

- Being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
- Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment requiring awkward stances and positions for periods of time throughout an 8 to 10 hour day.
- Ability to stand and walk for majority of 8 to 10 hour day.
- Ability to bend, climb ladders and scaffolding 10 to 25 feet above ground level.
- Ability to lift product, equipment, and tools up to 50 pounds throughout the day; push or pull product up to 100 pounds on an infrequent basis.
- Ability to use hand tools up to 20 pounds over extended periods of time.
When required, work on shifts or be on call to ensure quick resolution of any issues that come up during campaigns
