Job description
- Maintains and completes Facility Reports within the Carematic software system.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair of the homes, surrounding areas, and emergency repair of vehicles and equipment throughout the Residential Homes.
- Maintains current inventory of all agency tools/equipment.
- Maintains tool/equipment storage in a secure, organized, and safe manner.
- Maintains storage of flammable/hazardous materials in a secure, organized, and safe manner.
- Maintains annual health/safety inspections of all Residential homes.
- Reports any structural defects to immediate supervisor.
- Performs lawn management and grounds maintenance, including digging and excavating, snow removal, etc.
- Completes painting as necessary, both interior and exterior
- Completes maintenance of floors, including carpet cleaning, stripping, waxing, and buffing.
- Performs general clean-up work indoors and outdoors using hand and power tools.
- Moves materials and loads/unloads trucks.
- Assembles equipment and home/office furniture using hand tools and/or power tools.
- Inspects fire extinguishers monthly in all the homes.
- Completes maintenance of the heating and air conditioning systems in all the homes including but not limited to changing filters, cleaning of the supply and return ducts.
- Completes Purchase Orders (POs) as needed for required approvals.
- Acts as the Chairperson of the FAI Safety Committee.
- Secure outside vendors, as needed.
- Conforms to all driving regulations as required by Maryland Motor Vehicle Law.
- Performs circle check before starting vehicles and report any irregularities or potential problem to the Operations Manager.
- Turns in mileage sheets on Residential vehicles monthly to Operations Manager, assists with routine maintenance of Residential vehicles
- Assists with FA events, as directed.
- Assists with LEC operations, as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
High school diploma or GED is required. Prior experience in construction trades is preferred, but not required.
- Must be 21years of age or older.
- Be willing to receive and maintain a valid CDL license, with passenger endorsement.
- Must have valid driver’s license with agency approved driving record.
- Must pass DOT physical examination yearly.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical for respiratory protection as per OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.134.
- Completion or willingness to complete an OSHA Industrial Truck Operator Training class.
- Possess skill in using hand tools and power tools, including carpenter’s tools.
- Possess knowledge of practical application of principles of electrical power, heating and air conditioning, plumbing fixtures systems and general building techniques.
- Possess knowledge of woodworking and other industrial shop equipment and operating functions.
- Possess a general knowledge of blueprints, specifications, and site plans.
- Must be able to read, write, add, and subtract in whole numbers, and calculate in fractions.
- Must complete all other required trainings, including CPR and First Aid.
- Must be able to identify and prioritize duties independently based on the safety and health of persons served and staff.
