Maintenance/Service Technician

WCD – Louisville, KY

Non Exempt Position

Maintain, service, and repair all the plant equipment to ensure minimum production interruptions, while following SQF, GMP’s, and any other pertinent food safety regulations.

What we are looking for:

• High School diploma, GED, or vocational school degree;
• 5 years of general maintenance experience;
• Must be able to troubleshoot problems and be able to make on the spot decisions to keep equipment running;
• Must be available to work any shift;
• Must have skills with shop tools, machinery disassembly and repair, and basic electrical troubleshooting;
• Must be able to learn new equipment and understand and recommend equipment modifications;
• Good interpersonal skills are essential;
• Must be able to wear safety equipment including safety glasses and cut gloves, etc., and work in cold, wet, hot, dusty and changing environments;
• Must be able to lift 70 pounds, bend, twist, kneel and work in awkward positions and stand for long periods of time.

What you will do:

• Evaluate and resolve problems on facility equipment during production and non-production hours while following GMP’s and food safety regulations.
• Perform work order repairs as assigned. Write work orders when problems are found with equipment or facility.
• Perform the work outlined in the preventive maintenance program as assigned.
• Inform supervisor of parts removed from parts inventory and keep parts and work area clean.
• Setup and/or breakdown of production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.

Physical Requirements:

• Bending, turning, twisting, climbing, stooping/kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting of objects up to 70 pounds.
• Working in a changing environment from clean to dirty, and cold to hot.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• May need to wear safety glasses, cut gloves and other various types of safety gear supplied by the company.
