Maintenance Supervisor

Summary
As an Oldcastle Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of manufacturing equipment. The Maintenance Foreman will also lead a small team of Maintenance Mechanics, providing hands-on supervision. A successful candidate must be able to work safely in a fast-paced, covered and uncovered manufacturing facility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist and direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Assist and direct workers in the diagnosis of malfunctions in equipment and machinery
- Inspect all production equipment daily
- Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and special purpose machines as assigned
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts and complete tasks as assigned
- Test malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs and discuss with Plant Manager for approval and repairs as needed
- Replace faulty parts, electrical wires, motors, controls, and circuit boards
- Install equipment and electrical components and test to ensure proper functioning
- Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed
- Perform maintenance on loaders and forklifts
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Responsible for supervising assigned workers including interviewing process, disciplinary, motivating, evaluating performance and developing personnel assigned
- Responsible for keeping attendance and productions records, identifying potential problems and managing them appropriately
Requirements
- At least 3 years of maintenance/electrician experience with at least two years working in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading a team of maintenance workers and in other supervisory responsibilities, including mentoring and creating weekly work schedules
- Adequate computer skills to accurately document repairs and preventative maintenance practices
- Knowledge in how to create and manage department budget, planning and scheduling preventative maintenance, planning maintenance projects, and ordering parts
- Strong electrical background, PLC knowledge; 480 industrial voltage, maintenance programs, ordering parts, quotes for repairs and installation of equipment are essential qualifications necessary for this position
- Working knowledge of basic safety programs, particularly lock-out/tag-out procedures, as well as principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and mechanics
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets and assemble schematic drawings.
Physical Requirements
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 65 lbs., extended standing, walking, sitting, bending, climbing, working inside and outside, and use of fall protection equipment
- Able to perform job tasks in sometimes dusty, hot and/or cold working conditions
