PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The primary objective of this position is to perform as a professional, highly skilled and exceptionally competent maintenance person in addition to handling management of contractors and all planned maintenance. Responsible for all administrative, planning, and scheduling, and able to analyze causes of breakdowns and initiate corrective measures. Participates in teams to develop and implement solutions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning the work for the maintenance departments Mechanics, Electricians, IT Technicians as well as others. Work closely with associates in Maintenance and Production to develop detailed job plans including the labor (type and quantity), materials, tools and work procedures for repairs and alterations.
  • Follow up on planned work by performing physical audit of a percentage of all jobs to ensure work is being performed to expectation.
  • Will act as the SAP subject-matter expert for the Plant, and champion the use of the system.
  • Responsible for the management of the plants preventative maintenance program in SAP including: job plans, frequency, required assets, parts and scheduling.
  • Manage and maintain the Work Flow process (work identification, planning, scheduling, execution, and auditing).
  • Responsible for developing cost estimates, tracking spending vs. budget, and performance KPI's for maintenance.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage contractor teams and supervise maintenance activities while meeting timeline and job plan outcomes
  • As part of the planning process, the planner position generates purchase requests for non-stocked parts and tools to support the planned jobs.
  • Responsible for the short and long-term scheduling of all maintenance activities.
  • Balance priorities, manpower, and material and equipment availability to develop department and individual work schedules.
  • Assists with job/parts kitting as necessary to ensure jobs are properly prepared for scheduled work to be performed timely
  • Will be required to respond to troubleshooting issues on days, nights and weekends
  • Actively engage in the plant's Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts through maintaining 5S standards and area/pillar activities as assigned.
  • General housekeeping in your work area
  • Follow the company waste management program - separate all recyclable material and discard waste into the appropriate containers to ensure sustainability efforts maximized
  • Remain actively 100% engaged in all safety initiatives and comply with all plant safety regulations
  • Comply with all plant rules and corporate policies regarding business conduct
  • Regular onsite attendance
  • All other duties as assigned or needed that can be performed safely

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The employee should hold the following abilities:

  • Properly use tools and housekeeping resources (examples – mop, broom, powered industrial floor scrubber, shovel, pick, paint brush, lawn mower, weed eater, rake, etc.)
  • Assess and only operate equipment when all guarding and safety devices are in proper working order
  • Must understand verbal and written instructions
  • Must be self-motivated to work independently and in a group
  • Must perform basic mathematical calculations

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPETENCIES
The employee must be able to:

  • Log onto a computer and navigate via keyboard to access paycheck/benefits enrollment information and accomplish required online training routinely
  • Will be required to log into and navigate production monitoring systems such as SAP for work notifications, quality and production tracking, etc.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Ability to lift-up to 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Work for up to 12 hours in extreme hot/cold manufacturing environment
  • Walk/stand on concrete floors continuously for up to 12 hours
  • Routinely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as work area requires
  • Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – steel toed shoes, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask), gloves, bump cap/hard hat as necessary for task
  • Repetitive hand, arm, & leg movements
  • Must be able to squat and bend at the waist and knees freely
