Looking for a full-time career position with the City of Salem, Oregon? We have two positions available in the Public Works Cleaning/CCTV/Grouting section. We are looking for a full-time career employee that works well in a team environment to help clean, inspect, and maintain cities 900 plus mile of sanitary sewer lines and assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the cities pump stations and wet wells. These positions are an entry level maintenance operator 1 position working daily with a crew leader to perform Closed-Circuit Video Inspection (CCTV), Grouting Operations, and Hydro Cleaning operations of the city’s 900 plus mile of sanitary sewer lines. The primary duties will include performing vehicle trip inspections, placing and removing temporary traffic control, setting up the CCTV truck, Grouting Truck, or the Hydro Truck, placing the cameras for inspection, nozzles and tubes for the hydro, and the grouting equipment, assisting in the operation of the truck, and driving the truck. The normal work schedule for this position is 0700 to 1530 Monday through Friday with occasional overtime required.The Public Works Department values employees and their professional development. Must pass the pre-employment drug test (including marijuana).Must pass the pre-employment background check.Must have a valid Oregon Class A Driver’s license with a tanker endorsement or must obtain the Oregon Class A license with a tanker endorsement no longer than six months from the employee start date. Must a driving record that meets the City of Salem’s driving standard. Must be able to stand, traverse, and work on uneven ground for extended periods of time during the work shift.Must be able to work for extended periods of time in all types of weather conditions during the work shift.One-year general maintenance, repair, paving, or construction experience in street right-of-way, street maintenance, public works facilities, utility systems, and public improvement.Where can I find out more about the position?
