Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager is an essential member of the Operations team. This position is responsible for the maintenance of the equipment and buildings and provides support to manufacturing. This position leads the entire maintenance team to plan, organize, and manage all related maintenance functionalities and any capital projects. The successful candidate will manage the maintenance and facility operations of a fast paced, technical textile finishing facility to meet key objectives for safety, equipment uptime, efficiency, and service.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are executed in a technically sound, safe, and environmentally acceptable manner, by complying with all relevant external and company requirements and practices.
- Select, contract, guide, and evaluate external contractors for executing maintenance-related activities.
- Stimulate continuous improvement in the maintenance organization and define and execute operational improvement programs
- Develop, implement, and manage a cost effective and efficient maintenance organization (including external contractors, to enable optimal maintenance performance. Maintain appropriate and required maintenance logs.
- Standardize work processes, procedures, and systems for the maintenance department.
- Define the need for technical competencies based on the manufacturing strategy and ensure the facility is appropriately staffed.
- Work directly with Production and Quality to create, maintain and adjust scheduling according to maintenance requirements (preventative maintenance, repairs, installs, etc.)
- Responsible for implementing and managing preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting of all facility equipment
- Manage equipment, spare parts, and tool expenditures according to budget guidelines
- Develop and lead preventative maintenance program; oversee maintenance repairs while minimizing maintenance costs. Review, approve, and assign all internal work requests.
- Provide recommendations on capital expenditures, and work with engineering and plant departments to lead and coordinate capital projects.
- Coordinate and lead projects within the plant to be completed on time and on budget.
- Work collaboratively and in support of the Executive Director of Operations and other Department Managers
- Maintain regulatory compliance with environmental programs and provide leadership on environmental initiatives in the plant.
- Ensure building and grounds are always maintained with a high degree of pride and in a safe and productive manner.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering may be highly regarded, but not required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing in a manufacturing setting, preferably in facilities management or technical engineering function.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.

- Hands-on knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Thorough knowledge of chemical processes

- Microsoft Office tools

Pay: $98,000.00 - $113,000.00 per year
