LOCATION: Santa Fe Corps, Santa Fe – New Mexico

STATUS: Part Time

The Salvation Army Santa Fe Corps in Santa Fe, NM is looking to fill a Maintenance/Landscape Tech position. The successful candidate for this position will have previous maintenance/landscaping experience and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

The Maintenance/Landscape Tech will perform preventative or emergency maintenance/repairs including electrical, structural, plumbing or equipment repair. They will assemble and or move furniture, hang pictures, and name plates. Landscaping responsibilities will include maintaining the care of shrubbery, flowers, building exterior, walkways, parking lots and cleaning trash from parking lots, buildings & retention areas daily. This position will monitor and schedule routine maintenance on all Corps vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum of three years maintenance and landscape experience

• Ability to follow directions

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Must possess a positive and professional attitude

• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred

• Experience with stripping and waxing floors

• Ability to address minor maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical

• Plumbing/HVAC experience preferred

• Skilled in using electrical-powered landscaping tools and gasoline-powered equipment to plant, cultivate and trim horticulture

• Must have a valid NM driver's license with a clean driving record

• Ability to complete and pass The Salvation Army Fleet Safety E-Training

• Must pass a criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms on a continuous basis. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to operate telephone, a desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer, and to understand written information.
