Whittemore Company’s roots have been traced back to 1919. Located in Roslindale, Massachusetts the company was originally established to distribute feed, grain and coal. In 1949 Whittemore started expanding perlite, operating the third known perlite furnace in the United States. In 1973 the Sheehy family purchased Whittemore Company and moved it from Roslindale to Andover, Massachusetts. The company remained at this location until 1985 when it was relocated to its present site in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Expansion processing of vermiculite was added in 1993, as well as a blending production line for custom products. Today the company manufacturers a wide range of standard and customized products that are used in variety of market applications in the horticultural, construction and industrial sectors.
1st Shift Plant Electrician
Mon to Fri 7am to 4:30pm
Weekends as need
On call for 2nd shift & 3rd shift
Summary Perform electrical duties to the facility and manufacturing area equipment as requested by the Maintenance Manager, or as deemed necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other responsibilities w/ similar skill and work conditions as assigned.
Perform all duties associated with being a plant electrician while supporting and assisting in all plant maintenance operations as required Perform preventative maintenance and upgrades to wiring, conduit, and control systems Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all types of machinery whether mechanical or electrical Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC circuits, motor control and control circuitry Troubleshoot and repair 480/208/120 voltage power distribution systems Troubleshoot electrical lighting systems, and AC variable speed drives Read and understand electrical drawings Familiar with Arc Flash regulations, Perform preventative... maintenance work and enter required data into Drives & PLC software, Complete maintenance work orders as required
Secondary Responsibilities: Work on construction projects as it relates to electrical and fixtures installation, demolition and/or repairs .Order electrical parts and supplies to maintain adequate inventory levels.
Education and/or Experience Electrical license required. Knowledgeable in reading blue prints and schematic designs. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Electrical licenses.
