Job Purpose:
As the Boat Loader and Maintenance Technician, this employee will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and will perform a variety of tasks relating to the shipment of boats. When this employee is not loading boats, this employee will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This is a full time position that will require the ability to maintain the highest level of safety mindset, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to changing work environments.

Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities:
Team up with the management to upgrade activities and schedule periodic maintenance.
Perform regularly scheduled interior and exterior maintenance, sanitation and assigned projects/events to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of physical plant and equipment in compliance with established practices.
Monitor equipment and physical plant performance; respond appropriately and promptly to alerts of malfunction; document and resolve any equipment maintenance or safety concerns.
Monitor and report to Manager on compliance with maintenance issues.
Purchase supplies in town, as needed/required.
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations with proper supervision.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Responsible for all other tasks/duties as assigned or necessary to successfully meet the goals and mission of the organization.

Loader Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures boat placement accuracy based on written or verbal instructions.
Observes positions of boats as to the correct positions at the appropriate times.
Checks conditions and weights of vessels to ensure compliance with loading procedures.
Operates industrial trucks, tractors, loaders, and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks, and to store and retrieve materials in warehouses.
Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled environment for extended periods of time.
Loader duties are the main priority of this position with warehouse back-up as secondary.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
Applicable certification(s).
Must have current driver’s license and provide a current MVR.

Loud noise from compressor system, power tools, equipment/building alarms, etc.

Wet and/or humid conditions (maintenance of equipment, restrooms, other areas)
Cold or extreme cold conditions (e.g., maintenance of outside equipment)
Change in room temperatures due to proximity of entrance/exit doors
Carts, pallets, and hand-trucks moving in and out of storage/manufacturing/warehouse areas
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
