FLOAT LINE ASSET CARE TECHNICIAN

The selected individual will partner with the float line team to perform a variety of activities that will work to build on float line equipment performance and reliability, maintain assets like the environmental control system, batch house, glass furnace, tin bath, lehr, and cold end equipment. This individual will need to be comfortable working in hot and cold environments, supporting night and weekend support when needed, and work towards developing their skills to work independently. The selected individual will work with asset care team, operations team, process engineers, maintenance team to develop their skills and improve our MBM culture.

This position has a Monday-Friday day shift schedule (up to 12 hours) with holidays, weekends, on call and overtime as needed.

This role offers a starting hourly rate of $28-30 commensurate with experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE

• Transformation: Assist with equipment installs and testing of new equipment
• Execute maintenance plans for glass furnace, environmental control system, tin bath, lehr, cold end
• Take on action items to drive equipment improvement and repair opportunities
• Aid operations in solving equipment issues
• Attend meetings for planning, scheduled work, team alignment
• Once a year travel to other Guardian facilities to support float line asset teams
• Work in non-controlled temperature environment along with working in extreme heat
• Willing to work weekday day shift, support by phone or on site as directed by the supervisor
• May be required to lift to 50 pounds
• Other functions as needed

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING

REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic Microsoft Office Suite experience
• Knowledge of mechanical systems
• Fabrication experience

WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD

• Basic electrical skills
• Basic engineering experience
• Foundry, industrial furnace, or glass experience
