Job description

The Coating Operator operates parylene deposition systems to coat customer-supplied parts according to specific processes and Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSPs). Operates other equipment such as vacuum ovens, plasma etchers, tumble coaters and other machines. Performs refurbishing and light maintenance on equipment. Coordinates loading of machines and coating activities to ensure a smooth flow of work to and from the masking area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows process instructions, Manufacturing Standard Procedures (MSP’s)
• Loads machines, monitors process equipment during run, and verifies coating thickness usingvarious measurement devices and tools.
• Independently operates all machines connected with the adhesion promotion and parylene depositionprocess.
• Calculates the proper amount of parylene dimer to be used to achieve process specified thickness.
• Performs general equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to define equipment malfunction and/or repair. This may include replacing ball valves, thermocouples, fuses and rotary unit seals.
• Reports more severe problems to the appropriate personnel.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participates in on-going training opportunities and supports a continuous quality improvementenvironment.
• Able to participate in FAA/DOT testing as necessary.
• Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
• May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years machine operating experience preferred
