About this Role

Assembly Machine Operator is an important role on the Silgan Dispensing team and is a great opportunity for those looking for entry level positions. Our machines help produce thousands of our dispensing products each day. So, it’s important to keep them running efficiently and continuously. The Assembly Machine Operator keeps our equipment operational by inspecting, cleaning and maintaining each machine. Here’s a list of duties that our Assembly Machine Operator performs on a typical day:

  • Responsible for ensuring equipment has a continuous flow.
  • Read work order and follow instructions to ascertain materials or containers.
  • Open container, fill hoppers, bins, feeders and elevators as necessary.
  • Load, unload and move material within the production floor department.
  • Sort, Audit and check parts for grease, damage, missing components, proper tube length, etc.
  • Handle the movement of finished production, boxes, bags and scrap for their assigned area.
  • Perform quality checks/audits during a production run through visual inspection and aligned with the quality plan.
  • Responsible for throwing trash and scraps in proper containers.
  • Must follow all work rules, safety rules and policies.



Job Requirements:


Qualified Candidates must have:

  • High School Education

Preferred Candidates will have:

  • Basic machine troubleshooting skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
