Job Summary:
Machine assemblies to current drawings and procedures in order to meet customer order requirements. Adhere to all company safety regulations and shop practices.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate standard types of machinery such as mills, lathes, drill press, grinder
- Set up machine and attain +\- .005 tolerance
- Able to machine materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, plastics and exotic metals, including but not limited to Hastelloy-C
- Perform hand operations including but not limited to filling, fitting, scraping, and polishing
- Able to read Engineering drawings and blueprints
- Work under the direction of Supervisor
- Must be able to read work order and understand requirements including material selection, tooling and second operations
- Meets productivity standards and shop safety practices
- Work near moving mechanical parts
- Perform other duties as required
- Experience with Haas / Fanuc controls a plus
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Apply calculations to achieve machining requirements. Perform metric conversation when necessary. Must be able to use measuring tools including but not limited to a tape measure, ruler and calipers.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
