Introduction

The Prince William Department of Social Services seeks several temporary staff to conduct screening interviews with senior and disabled adults to determine if they qualify for long-term supportive services (LTSS). You will schedule appointments, meet with clients in their home and conduct interviews using a Universal Assessment Instrument (UAI). Typical interviews last one-hour, but may run longer, depending on the case circumstances. You may need to engage with family members or outside parties (e.g. language interpreters) to collect the information needed. Following the interviews, you will record your notes in an on-line case record system and communicate with status with our partners in the Health Department.

Work Schedule:
This is a temporary, non-benefitted position that may extend through June 30, 2023. Work can be performed days, evenings or weekends, depending on the availability of your clients. The hours are flexible, but you must be able to work at least 20 hours per week. Your work location will be a hybrid of field work, office work in our Woodbridge location and telework. Internet access is required.

Job training will be provided and will include mandated reporter training, UAI certification training and safety training. This job requires you to drive your personal vehicle so you must have reliable transportation, possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive for work. Travel reimbursement is provided.

Preferences
We are seeking a candidate with an Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred) in a human services-related field; professional-level experience working with senior and or disabled adults; strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Special Requirements:
All candidates must pass criminal history, child protective services and DMV background checks

Resource/foster parents for youth in the Prince William foster-care program may not be employed by the Prince William Department of Social Services.

Resource/foster parents for youth from other localities are welcome to apply.

Salary: $32.11/hr.
