Essential Function
The Ida Long-Term Recovery (LTR) Coordinator works with the organization’s human services staff and multi-sector partners to assist Ida survivors and provide case consultation/guidance as needed. The LTR Coordinator will partner with disaster case management agencies and provide direct client-facing casework. The Ida LTR Coordinator will serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external referrals for Ida survivors, vet and work with the EDS Director and Human Services staff to approve cases for funding, and process approved funding for unmet needs assistance.
This position is primarily remote but may involve visits to Divisional Headquarters for internal meetings/program updates, in-person meetings with partners, Salvation Army Corps visits, etc., primarily in Ida-impacted counties.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties listed below are the primary duties of this position but are not all the duties that may be required. - Develop and maintain active partnership and communication with disaster case management and long-term recovery partners, including but not limited to New Jersey Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (NJVOAD) and its relevant working groups, county COADs (Community Organizations Active in Disaster), and LTRGs (Long-Term Recovery Groups), and individual case management providers.
- Serve as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for local Salvation Army units in contact with Ida survivors. As necessary and appropriate, provide supplemental casework for disaster-related unmet needs.
- Receive case documents and promptly review for eligibility for unmet needs funding, considering urgency, vulnerabilities, disaster impacts, and other assistance (FEMA Individual Assistance, insurance, SBA loans, etc.).
- Assist clients not already working with a case manager in identifying a suitable case management provider or, if appropriate, provide direct guidance and assistance with recovery milestones.
- Provide continuityof client services through case transfer or case closure.
- Communicate with vendors to ensure accurate delivery of goods/services to clients and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Prepare check requests for financial assistance.
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of records and reports for all community programs and funding sources as needed for Emergency Disaster Services and connections with other departments and programs, paying careful attention to funds spent, funds remaining, and types of assistance rendered.
- Prepare and maintain Salvation Army statistical reports for timely submission.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and updated case records following The Salvation Army record-keeping policies and procedures, using all necessary platforms, including but not limited to Service Point, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel, etc.
- Coordinate services with partner agencies and vendors to ensure a holistic service approach for all clients.
- Attend and participate in regular staff meetings/training and individual supervision meetings as required.
- Coordinate with Unmet Needs Roundtables, other service providers, and other funders to ensure clients’ needs are met, and there is no duplication of resources.
- Uphold the standards and principles of The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a Human Services-related field from an accredited institution.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in case management, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be punctual and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently.
