LMI is seeking a skilled
Logistics Technology Specialist at our client site in Norfolk, VA. Specific expertise is required in
logistics technologies as they applies to the Navy, with a focus on Automated Identication Technology (AIT), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Item Unique Identification (IUID), Internet of Things (IoT), and related technologies. Successful LMI consultants demonstrate competency in project execution, critical thinking, and client relationship management while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.

Responsibilities may include:
- Serve as client liaison for the project.
- Advise the client and project team on all aspects of logistics technology.
- Develop white papers, concepts of operation, training materials, guides, and similar materials with respect to advanced logistics technologies.
- Conduct site visits to determine requirements for logistics techologies to assist in effectiveness and efficieny of operations, support and plan for the deployment of those technologies, and assist in initial deployment and training.
- Provide sustainment support for logistics technologies once deployed, either on-site or remotely.
- Manage government furnished equipment in support of those techologies.
- Represent the project team on government committees and working groups, and with outside organizations as requested.
- Assess new, state-of-the-art logistics technologies and evaluate their applicability to various Naval missions and functions.
- Help develop project deliverables.
- Communicate clearly with clients and stakholders through both formal and informal converstations, written reports and papers, and oral presentations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required. Degree in engineering, techology, supply chain, business, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum ten (10) years experience with the logistics technologies required.
- Strong background in Naval logistics and Navy IT systems.
- Strong quantitative skills, including the ability to use spreadsheet, database, and project management software.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire and apply domain-specific expertise through on-the-job training and professional development training.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
- Self-directed, detail oriented in completing assigned tasks, able to adapt to changing work efforts and manage impact of shifting priorities.
- Available for travel.
- This position requires a secret clearance. You must be a US citizen.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Master’s degree or higher in related discipline.
- Experience with the NAVSUP AIT office preferred.
