Summary/Primary Role:
The Logistics Procurement Analyst will support the Company’s logistics procurement data needs. This includes the creation of structural tools to streamline the analysis of requests for proposals and impact analyses for elements such as price, service, visibility, sustainability, and risk. The data will come from various sources. The successful candidate will use state-of-the-art analytical tools. The Logistics Procurement Analyst will also support automated data flows to ensure streamlined processes, including requests for proposals, rate requests, contracting, and master data management.

This is an on-site role at our Charlotte, NC office.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Extraction, normalization, and presentation of the Company’s multi-modal data from various sources in various formats for consumption by Company management and clients.
  • Development and maintenance of effective, structural analysis tools to streamline the preparation of normalized data sets from Procurement and other data sets in support of Logistics Procurement activities.
  • Incubation of automated data flows using office 365 power platform or other similar software
  • Responsible for mastering various software tools including rating, mapping, optimization, spreadsheets and database software.
  • Providing standardized mode reports for the Company’s Procurement Team to aid in the analysis of the client’s logistics network.
  • Calculation of Procurement spreads and savings metrics and publishing of savings metrics to clients.
  • Responsible for assisting in data manipulation for new business analysis.
  • Analysis and creation, ad hoc, of opportunities that either lower cost, generate value, or enhance service.
  • Ensure quick and accurate feedback to freight rate requests. For rates that will be used for shipment, solicitation of freight rate requests from carriers and proving such rates to master data for upload into TMS routing guides.
  • Input of specifications into the Company’s IT application development and system integrity feedback.
Qualifications and Key Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree required with preference given to a Data Science, Logistics, Economics, Business or Engineering degree.
  • Excellent data analysis skills using advanced desktop computer tools and software, including advanced proficiency in MS Access and MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of data analytics language such as Python or similar is preferred.
  • Knowledge of logistics data such as bill of lading information, rate tables, mileage standards, commodity classes, LTL tariffs, etc. is desired.
  • Experience analyzing price-cost spreads is desired.
  • Knowledge of the Office 365 Power Platform is desired.
  • Excellent ability to prioritize and manage multiple critical projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Team player who seeks continuous improvement. Lean six sigma certification is desired.
