Job description
As a key member of the Shared Services team, the Logistics Manager will offer leadership across all sites in our organization with a focus on being a collaborative service partner to the leaders of our Men, Women, and Youth Programs, fundraising staff, and our wide variety of donors/volunteers. The Manager will grow to be a catalyst to strengthen the Gift-in-Kind services and industry standards for the Rescue Alliance, Association of Gospel Rescue Missions, and other partner organizations that serve those caught in cycles of poverty.
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer/Director of Operations
Specific Responsibilities:
Provide Leadership for initiatives managed by the Shared Services Team
- Proactively manage a wide range of relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, and our community.
- Evaluate current food and nonfood GIK practices and provide new solutions and strategies for stewardship.
- Provide excellent customer service for all communities within our Continuum of
- Effectively manage and assimilate best GIK practices at Tribeca and Bowery campuses
- Evaluate problems, thinking quickly and accurately, to make appropriate recommendations to the people involved.
- Operate within the designated budget while providing excellent
- Work closely with the Director of Corporate Partnership in matters concerning donor
Provide Service to stakeholders internal and external to the organization
- Develop and implement “Bowery Best Business Practices” of all GIK services for The Bowery Mission.
- Implement structured training of staff, clients, trainees, and volunteers/donors.
- Direct and conduct safety, sanitation, and maintenance Train and lead in the maintenance of all storage facilities to ensure the safety of the GIK team and volunteers.
- Be responsible for scheduling and supervision of all GIK staff and drivers at our Bowery and Tribeca sites.
- Ensure accurate data tracking and recording of all inbound and distributed GIK by overseeing database management and timely reporting to the Financial and Development teams.
- Work with the Food Services Manager to manage the distribution of donations to each site in appropriate amounts, in a timely manner.
- Represent The Bowery Mission at industry related and donor meetings to speak as a subject matter expert.
Coordinate and work closely with other members of the Shared Services team and the Corporate and Community Partnerships team on projects of mutual benefit.
- Actively participate in team meetings and team initiatives. Be a servant leader and team player.
Qualifications and Education:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Embraces the organization’s Statement of Faith
- 3 years in ministry, non-profit, or human services with supervisory and strong customer service duties
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of stud
- High integrity that builds trust with internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
- Able to safely bend, lift, and squat at least 50
- NY driver’s license
- 3+ years’ experience in logistics or related field
Salary commensurate with relevant education & experience: $60, 000 to $65,000 per year
