Linux System Administrator
Naval Surface Warfare Center - Carderock

The Carderock Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center supports 3,200 scientists, engineers and technical personnel in more than 40 disciplines ranging from fundamental science to applied/in-service engineering.

This position will work with Carderock IT Operations Linux Engineering and Administration team to ensure customers have a secure and available Linux computing environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Installation and configuration of RedHat Enterprise 7/8 environment (servers and workstations)
• Linux systems administration and engineering
• Linux systems troubleshooting and system maintenance

To qualify you will need:

• Active DOD Top Secret Security Clearance
• Active CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent IAT Level II Certification
• Must obtain Linux based certification within 6 months of start date
• At least 3 years of Linux administration experience

Experience with:

• RedHat Enterprise 7/8 environment engineering experience
• Command Line Interface (CLI) experience, especially with Red Hat Enterprise version 7 and 8
• Ansible experience, especially with writing playbooks
• Bash scripting
• Red Hat IdM (identity management) experience
• Certificate and token integration - authentication support experience

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
