Job description
We are looking for a Line Cook to join our culinary team in our Food and Beverage department. The Line Cook will prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces. They will also cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
- Maintain a consistently high level of food quantity, quality, and preparation.
- Prepare and cook a variety of meats, poultry, fish, and seafood. Wash, chop, store properly and prepare a variety of vegetables and fruits.
- Maintain cleanliness of all back of the house area and ensure all kitchen equipment is clean before and after use.
- Follows recipes and works quickly to keep up with the pace of the events and team.
- Follow regulatory requirements for the proper handling and storage of food.
- Responsible for the set-up, cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the work area before, during, and after every shift.
- Work in a team environment using excellent communication skills with kitchen staff and management.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or country club.
- Food Prep Certificate preferred.
- Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills.
- Dependable team player
- Fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work flexible hours to include holidays, weekends, and evenings.
- The nature of this position requires the individual to spend long periods of time on their feet, walking, standing or stooping, and lifting.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, up to 40 pounds.
