We are seeking a consultative problem-solver to drive our Go to Market strategy within our Life Sciences business.

We are looking for a key leader with deep expertise in technology solutions in the life sciences sector, who will be tasked with identifying and qualifying opportunities, and thereby driving revenue growth in this space.

Cognizant’s revenue has grown at a double-digit CAGR during 2018-20, mainly driven by growing pharmacovigilance / complaint management and commercial services
Enterprises leveraging CRO’s Functional Service Provider (FSP) model will find its delivery model very compelling due to integration of cost-effective services with nimble next-generation technology (a key limitation for CROs)
Cognizant continues to make platform- and solutions-related investments (such as Digital PV and Unified Clinical Platform), expand and establish new delivery centers, and enter strategic partnerships/M&As (such as RxLogix, Medidata, and Zenith Technology)
Referenced clients have highlighted Cognizant’s resource scalability, cost-effective services, flexibility, and the ability to deliver services despite volume fluctuations as key strengths. Further, they were highly satisfied by its management of COVID-19-induced disruptions and highlighted its effective communication, high responsiveness, and proactive approach in dealing with the crisis.

You will be responsible for the following:
Strategy and Business Planning :
Create and monitor the annual plan with the minimum revenue targets, new products to be brought into portfolio, regions for penetration and accounts to be targeted.

Finalize the annual plan based on detailed discussion with the Group Product Head and SBU Head.

Work with the Group Product Head to plan for cross product sales and growth.

Operations Review :
Monitor actuals vs targets through the course of the financial year (Product Profitability).

Discuss the same with the Group Product Head on a weekly / fortnightly basis and work with Product Partners and Account teams to identify avenues to fulfill targets.

Pre Sales :
Generate new leads due to connects in external forums and being known in industry circles for thought leadership.

Participate in strategic deals or deals

Interact with the customer to understand the business problem and ways to generate need for the product.

Review the proposals, plan and estimates for the same.

Establish connect with key client stakeholders in the context of the opportunity and address concerns/needs.

Provide sign off on commercials, when margin for engagement falls below the set boundaries.

Share and educate account team on new capabilities.

Solution Definition :
Understand the client's stated and unstated needs and break down the scope.

Review reports and qualify the recommendations/conclusions provided by the consulting team.

Present the reports and recommendations to customers for potentially very large opportunities.

Conduct client workshops for complex engagements including product evaluations.

Solution Deployment :
Provide guidance and oversight to the team to ensure proper deployment.

Ensure deployment capacity building through regular capacity building and knowledge sharing sessions.

Project Management :
Act as advisory and governance body for critical / high risk / strategic consulting engagements.

Product Partner Management :
Identify new Product Partner opportunities.

Build relationships with Product Partner CXO.

Establish joint GTM, depending on the size of the product partnership.

For a deal / customer: Negotiate on the pricing with the Product Partner (when profitability is going beyond defined boundaries).

Identify new opportunities along with product vendor.

Practice Development :
Based on an industry point of view :
Proactively, brainstorm with the Group Head to identify areas /value adds, key differentiations from other service providers, prioritize the key areas to invest in based on factors such as feasibility, returns, etc.

Identify Cognizant's differentiation from the industry (PPS PoV with respect to other service providers) and translate the same to the Product Identify the set of capabilities needed to deliver on the same.

Provide industry direction and thought leadership through participation in regulation bodies, invitations to industry forums, seeking opportunities etc.

Ensure capability development of team members through structured learning interventions.

Knowledge Management :
Review KM process to ensure that the processes are being followed.

People Management :
Understand aspirations of team members.

Set goals for team members and monitor performance.

Conduct appraisals.

Identify, prioritize and deploy action items for competency development.

Guide the employee in setting career paths.

Participate in senior level talent selection.

Review progress on employee engagement activities.

Direct and guide other managers/team leaders on resolving employee complaints.

Identify, groom, reward and develop high performers and future leaders.

Must Have Skills:
Deep Life Sciences technology expertise
Deep understanding of Life Sciences industry trends, standards, best practices, and regulatory/compliance.
Experience supporting the sales and delivery of large-scale technology product and services deals in excess of 3M.
Strong people management skills.
Extensive experience developing Go to Market strategy in the Life Sciences technology sector.
Extensive experience in product partnerships for the Life Sciences Industry.
