Position Title: Licensed Veterinary Technician

Reports To: ER Veterinarian

$3,000 sign on bonus after 30 days

Job Summary:

You will be in charge of assisting the doctor from start to finish with patient treatments, procedures, and activities. Engaging and communicating with clients with compassion and care as well as monitoring patient conditions recovering from surgery or treatment. You must be able to obtain quality samples for diagnostic testing, perform in-house x-ray and laboratory procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment, and perform surgery room and equipment preparations as well as post-operation sterilization and cleaning. In addition, licensed vet technicians will be asked to prepare and administer medications, vaccines, serums, or treatments under the guidance of a doctor, as well as, administer anesthetics or sedatives to control pain under the direction of the doctor.

● Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

● Ability to supervise and mentor others

● Proficient computer skills

● Familiar with IDEXX equipment, Ultrasound, and Cold Laser

● Demonstrated commitment to practice medicine with integrity

● Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for continuous learning

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● Act as a positive role model and mentor to the staff around you

Education and Experience:

● Associates degree in Veterinary Technology

● License to practice as a Veterinary Technician in the state of Virginia

Various Shifts Available

Pay Scale: $23-$26 – Licensed Required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Weekend availability
