We currently are looking for a Waste Water Treatment Technician for our facility in Columbia, SC. This technician will oversee operation of the waste water treatment area.

Responsibilities:

• Operate waste water treatment system by turning on pumps, mixers, and controllers. Adjust flow as necessary.
• Clean pH and ORP probes daily.
• Operate and dump filter press as required.
• Operate rotary vacuum filter as required.
• Charge line slurry tanks.
• Operate oil skimmer and fill drums as required.
• Check equipment and fill out daily log sheet.
• Calibrate process control equipment as needed.
• Take chemical inventory and record chemical and water usage daily.
• Take grab and composite samples of effluent as required and fill out sample log.
• Analyze effluent samples and record results.
• Clean tanks as required.
• Routine maintenance and clean-up of work area and equipment.
• Perform miscellaneous plant duties.

• 
  Class D (or higher) Physical/Chemical Wastewater Treatment Operator licensed by SC-LLR required.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

• Unrestricted physical movement and handling of 55-gallon drums with hand-operated drum trucks.

• Lift up to 50 lbs bags of lime from ground to waist or shoulder level.

• Knowledge and ability to make quick decisions when supervision is not readily available.

• Work from ladders and platforms at various heights.

• Visual acuity to read and record sample information.

• Available to work up to 12 hours per day on rotating shifts, that could include weekends and holidays

• Walk and stand for extended periods of time to perform job functions.

• Climb stairs to access equipment.

• Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as schedules, SOPs, work rules, etc.

• Ability to effectively communicate with all members of team.

• Regular and on-time attendance
