Mackinac Straits Health System, located across the Mackinac Bridge in St. Ignace, is searching for a Full Time Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Some of the areas of responsibility for this position includes:

Accurately inputs patient specific information into the computer system

Accurately inputs prescription information

Bills prescriptions/ vaccines to the correct insurance(s)

Fills prescriptions with correct medication, strength, dosage form, quantity, and prescription label

Flags prescriptions in system appropriately based on pick up method/ priority

Accurately labels and partials prescriptions when necessary

Adds prescription drugs and over the counter products to daily order

Can create, add to, submit, receive, sticker, put away, and return items on daily drug and over the counter order

Fills narcotic and controls prescriptions using drug log books

Return to stock daily prescriptions that are 14 days old and not picked up

Maintains pharmacy in a clean and orderly manner

Answers the phone politely and correctly responds or directs the call to the appropriate staff member

Gives/Takes verbal prescriptions accurately over the phone

Understands the laws and legal requirements for both control and non-control prescriptions

Strong customer services skills

Able to perform basic mathematical calculations

Strong time management and stress management abilities

Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness

Requests refills when appropriate

Calls for clarification/overrides on prescriptions to both doctors and insurance companies

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be licensed as a Pharmacy Technician

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Respond to requests for service and assistance.

Follow instructions and respond to management direction.

Successful completion of computer skills testing
