SUMMARY: The licensed/student behavior analyst is responsible for developing plans to reduce problem behaviors and teach appropriate replacement behaviors for children, adolescents, and adults with autism and related developmental disabilities. The licensed/student behavior analyst will conduct functional behavior assessments, skills assessment and develop behavior and treatment plans in collaboration with parents, caregivers, educators and other team members. The licensed/student behavior analyst is also responsible for developing skills acquisition programming, training parents, behavioral personal care attendant and other caregivers on all behavior change protocols, analyzing data and adjusting plans as needed based on data.

- Conduct functional assessment and/or functional analysis of target behaviors, including indirect assessments, direct observations, and experimental analyses. • Develop behavior intervention plans and general behavioral guidelines, in collaboration with parents, caregivers, educators and other team members, to decrease challenging behaviors and increase replacement behaviors
- Conduct competency-based training on behavior plans, skill acquisition programming and all other behavior change procedures for behavioral personal care attendant, parents, and any other team members with whom clients are in regular contact
- Ensure correct implementation of behavior support plans, skill acquisition programs, and other behavior change procedures through the effective use of data and graphing, direct observations, team consultation, and records review • Recommend and develop program modifications to the team as necessary
- Analyze all behavior and skill acquisition data
- Complete progress notes for every session in accordance with DMH and insurance guidelines
- Complete a monthly report that describes trends, changes in behaviors, or any other significant events that may have impact the behaviors of the client, recommendations of the licensed/student and any trainings or relevant programming actions that occurred during the month
- Conduct skills assessments to determine programming needs and treatment recommendations
- Write recommendation letters to service coordinators for on-going services
- Ensure compliance with statewide policies and procedures through presentation of behavior plans to behavior development committees and human rights committees as applicable
- Collect and present data to, as well as, consult with the psychiatrist regarding behavioral progress, to allow informed decisions to be made regarding the effectiveness and necessity of psychotropic medication
- Attend client centered meetings (IEPs, ISPs, FSTs) as appropriate
- Consult and coordinate services with other education and health care professionals on an as needed basis
- Attend all required company meetings and trainings
- Maintain certification and licensure status as applicable
- Participate in continuing education as required for certification maintenance
- Collect data on the client's behaviors, program targets, and teaching procedures.
- Demonstrate understanding of the services, individual needs, and goals for clients
- Provide direct supervision to assistant/student behavior analysts, RBT, and DSP staff.
- Observe and record client's behavior.
- Communicate regularly with assistant/student behavior analysts, RBT, DSP, administration, parents, caregivers and other team members.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to ensure client safety and confidentiality.
- Follows ethical and professional guidelines as prescribed by supervisors, Missouri Behavior Analyst Advisory Board and BACB Guidelines for Responsible Conduct.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 1-year experience providing services to individuals with autism and/or other developmental disabilities.
- National Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or in the process of securing certification.
- National Board Certification as a Behavior Assistant Analyst (BCaBA) or in the process of securing certification.
- Licensure as a Behavior Analyst in the state of Missouri (or meets the eligibility criteria for licensure)
- Licensure as a Behavior Assistant Analyst in the state of Missouri (or meets the eligibility criteria for licensure).
- For BCBA candidates: Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education or a related field. Strong consideration is given to candidates with degrees from ABA accredited programs
QUALIFICATIONS:

The licensed/student behavior analyst should have experience with implementing functional behavior assessments with children, adolescents and/or adults with autism, recognizing and discussing signs of autism and criteria for autism spectrum disorder, and participating in clinical teams with other autism professionals. The licensed/student behavior analyst should have a strong clinical background in administering verbal behavior assessments, conducting language, play, and skill-based assessments, and in designing, implementing, and/or training others using individualized language, play and skill-based curricula. The licensed/student behavior analyst will have supervisory experience in 1:1 education of learners with autism across educational and community settings, as well as familiarity with designing, participating in, or supervising in-home 1:1 programs for young children with autism. Experience with collecting, graphing, analyzing, displaying and discussing data based progress is a must.
