The Teaching and Learning team at the Gies College of Business is looking for detail-oriented, technical, and support-minded individuals interested in working on an hourly basis to assist our Learner Experience Team in supporting innovate fully-online at-scale graduate courses.

The work location for this position is flexible. Highly qualified candidates may be eligible to work full-time remotely within the US, on-premise at our offices in Champaign, Illinois, or a combination.
Job Duties
- Assists with course readiness in Coursera and Canvas prior to launch
- Monitors active Coursera and Canvas courses
- Updates Coursera and Canvas course sites as needed
- Checks and corrects courses for quality issues
- Manages Coursera and Canvas course functional questions and concerns related to quizzes, assignments, rubrics, etc. during active courses
- Prepares documentation and other learning aids to help students
- Implements accessibility accommodations (i.e., adjusting assignment settings, coordinating with the Accessibility team, etc.)
- Triages student support tickets using technical support management tools, as well as properly documenting and recording issues
- Builds and maintains expertise in the Coursera and Canvas LMS platforms and other relevant technologies for teaching
- Provides recommendations to learning designers and the Instructional Team for improving the student experience
- Attends regular team meetings and course meetings such as: transition, launch, check-in, and debriefs
- Attends other meetings (e.g., course development meetings) as needed
- Collects and reviews student experience data under the direction of the LX & Data teams (e.g., end of course evaluations, student satisfaction surveys, Live Session attendance reports, etc.)
- Conducts course debrief meetings for assigned courses and presents student experience data
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- English fluency
- Canvas LMS experience
- Customer support experience
- Tech-savvy
- Detail-oriented
- Work 20 hours/week or more
- Work during business hours M-F, as well as flexibility to respond to urgent requests on evenings or weekends as needed
Preferred
- Coursera platform experience
- Experience in higher-ed supporting learners and instructional staff
- Skilled in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Proficient at troubleshooting technical issues
Pay
- Commensurate with experience
