Position Summary: Under the direction of the Branch Manager, has the general responsibility, in addition to performing as a paying and receiving teller, to oversee all tellers within the branch and to ensure the smooth and orderly operation of the teller line and related functions. Works a 40 hour schedule, Monday - Friday.

Essential Functions

• Oversees all tellers for whom responsible; provides input to and may participate in teller appraisal process.
• Prepares teller schedule for Saturdays in order to maintain proper staffing.
• Ensures that each staff member submits work to scan in a neat and orderly manner, and that the teller?s daily balance sheet is properly prepared.
• Ensures each teller balances every day; provides assistance to locate any differences; and ensures that all differences are properly initialed and, if required, reported to the Manager or Auditor immediately.
• Monitors and controls all responsibilities generally performed by tellers delegating those duties in a manner which will maximize efficiency of the office.
• Ensures that the appearance of the teller area and personnel are neat, organized, and in accordance with Bank policy.
• Ensures that all negotiable and confidential records in the work area are properly secured each day.
• Oversees proper dually controlled daily opening of the night depository and the processing of the contents.
• Manages the branch vault cash and adheres to the BSA.
• Orders/Ships currency
• Refers Bank?s products and services to customers and prospects
• Accepts deposits and cashes checks verifying cash and endorsements, and issues receipts
• Issues Official Bank Checks and redeems U.S. Savings Bonds
• Accepts loan payments and safe deposit box rental payments.
• Answers customer inquiries and gives balances.
• Maintains confidentiality of the Bank?s records and customer transactions.
• Balances transactions at end of day and verifies cash totals.
• This position is responsible for a varying schedule to include opening and closing the Bank and Saturday work is required.
