As a Lead Systems Engineer in R&D, you’ll work on innovating safety critical code for hard real time embedded systems that support everyday life, from critical, life-saving operations to everyday tasks, like flipping a light switch.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead the specification, design, implementation, and test of embedded systems.
2. Understand hardware and high-level software interactions, and collaborate with Hardware and Software Engineers.
3. Lead the development of designs and test documentation.
4. Mentor Engineers, Associate Engineers, and Technicians.
5. Serve as a technical contact for internal customers.
6. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
8. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
Typically 6+ years experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Embedded systems firmware development including:
- real-time firmware design
- C/C++ and assembly languages
- Verilog/VHDL
- Embedded Linux systems development including:
- C, C++, Python
- Other scripting languages
Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Background check results satisfactory to SEL
Negative drug test result(s)
