Job Details:
A Lead Software Engineer (LSE) is recognized as an expert in their strategic functional area and uses a systematic application of advanced technical knowledge to deliver software solutions using modern day technology stacks. The LSE leads large complex projects consisting of on-shore and off-shore resources, uses strong organizational and leadership skills to set and maintain efficient development progress, and defines all software components for large-scale systems with minimal oversite from management.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Designs changes to new and existing applications
- Develops and debugs software in support of new and existing applications
- Project leadership, cost estimation and task planning
- Mentors/coaches junior team members
- Provides support for production applications (24x7)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner both verbally and in writing.
- Generates commitment and enthusiasm from others to set and achieve challenging goals and objectives
- Understands and implements architectural vision for performance, extensibility and availability
- Leads scope of work estimation, cost estimates, task planning, forecasting, scheduling and staff requirements definitions
- Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering
- Assigns tasks to both on-shore and off-shore team members to leverage strengths or enhance knowledge
- Oversee the software design process
- Develop and test software to ensure it meets the needs of end-users
- Contribute to system and application architecture
- Facilitate new software implementation
- Review the work of junior software development staff
- Provide technical support
Work Experience &/or Education:
- 4+ years of Core Merchandise Planning, Retail Space Planning – Planograms and Floor plans, Seasonal Merchandise planning and Seasonal Allocations
- 3 + years Blue Yonder Intactix – Data Manager, Space Planning Plus, Space Automation scripting (Legacy), Floor plans, Assortment Optimization (AO), Efficient Item Assortment (EIA)
- 3 + years Blue Yonder MAPS – BY Promo Planning
- 3 + years SEYC Retail AI – GOLD v5 Supply Chain system, GSP, GOLD v6 Allocations, GOLD Events
- 5 + years Object Oriented Analysis and Design – Design Patterns, REST API design, Cloud architecture
- 3 + years Java 8 with functional programming (lambdas, streams, etc.), JDBC, Oracle extensions
- 3 + years Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT) and Swing framework – Rich Client Event driven programming
- 3 + years Java Web start with SwingX, JGoodies, POI, Apache Commons, Apache HTTP Client, Java Form Designer (JFD)
- 3 + years Jakarta EE framework with TomEE application server
- 3 + years TOAD, Oracle 12c-19c, Oracle Exadata RAC platform, PL/SQL, Performance improvement
- 3 + years DevOps - Git, Gradle build, Groovy, Nexus Maven repo, Gitlab, Liquibase, SonarQube, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform
- 3 + years Webfocus reports, InfoAssist, Oracle reports, 1010 Datawarehouse integration, Red Hat Linux 8, Korn Shell scripting, WixTool tool set
- 3 + years Python, C# 10, .Net 6, React JS, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, PowerBI, PowerApps, Azure Cloud
- 7+ years experience in software development in an IT organization or equivalent educational experience.
- 3+ years experience with a relational database (i.e., Oracle, MSSQL, Postgres, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, trade school or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with a higher-level language (i.e. C#, Java, etc.)
