About the Position
Traci Connell Interiors is looking for a Lead Interior designer to have a seat on our leadership team and catapult design projects from concept to completion. We believe this new team member is a key component to the success of our firm.
An exemplary candidate has a strong background in luxury residential interior design plus new construction, and will bring creative and innovative design capabilities, define project requirements, schedule and budget. They will execute or oversee every step in the process to achieve project goals. Their precision and attention to detail are coupled with a can-do attitude and strong willingness to “figure it out.”

This is a full-time position working 5 days/week from our Dallas, TX studio with flex work day benefits. How You Will Make a Difference
The Lead Designer will have a high level of responsibility and ownership of the projects he/she manages and will lead the creation of a project’s comprehensive interiors scheme. The Designer will have proactive responsibility for the coordination of interior architecture, programming, space planning, and material selections to be approved. The goal of this position is to be a team lead for the design, selection, and specification of all FF&E [furnishings, finishes and equipment] and be responsible for the design and technical coordination for all facets of the interior design package. The Lead Designer must have an extreme eye for creativity and unique design solutions that are proactively curated.
The Lead Designer will keep things moving in a positive, professional, shepherding manner with all constituents, as well as guide and supervise the work and professional development of the Junior Designer. Projects are planned and executed on time, and meet project and profit goals with high customer satisfaction while bringing a strong, creative, innovative design to all projects.
You will:
1. Be part of TCI’s leadership team, contributing to exceptional results and future revenue and profitability growth, developing the team and fostering our positive company culture
2. Manage project start to close including project profitability
3. Lead staff to execute a project in a positive, professional and profitable manner
4. Establish positive, professional client, contractor and vendor relations
5. Create designs, architectural models, renderings and drawings (2D a must, 3D preferred)
- Designs for bathrooms, kitchens and furniture layouts
- Detailed permit and construction drawing sets, including plans, elevations and sections
- Design and create construction drawings for custom built-ins and furniture
- Develop floor plans, elevations and CAD drawings
6. Create client mood boards, presentations and specifications
7. Research and select materials, finishes, furnishings and fixtures
8. Lead installation process, coordinate deliveries, photoshoot and handle post installation returns

You Have
- 4-year Interior design degree from an accredited college or university
- 3+ years of Lead Interior Design experience with focus on residential interiors
- An exceptional design portfolio
- Creative, innovative and sophisticated design capabilities with an aesthetic that meets the needs of TCI clientele
- Knowledge of residential furniture lines and furniture selling skills & experience
- Knowledge and experience in luxury residential new construction
- Proven experience leading a project from concept to completion
- Good familiarity with project tracking software (TCI uses Asana), Studio Designer, Zoom video conferencing, and Dropbox
- Proficiency in 3D renderings preferred; 2D a must
- Auto-CAD, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Photoshop
- Sketchup proficiency is a preferred but not required (hand sketching abilities are helpful)
You Must
- Be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Have reliable transportation and a reasonable commute to Dallas, TX studio
- Be able to work onsite and travel to client projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
