About us

We are a locally owned and operated licensed general contracting business located in San Rafael specializing in garage renovation in San Francisco, Marin and Northern San Mateo Counties. The position requires installation of shelving, racks, cabinets and floor coating in garages. Experience working in the trades with hand and power tools preferred. We will train for specific skills required for the job. Experience in cabinet installation, painting and/or epoxy flooring is a plus.

Work schedule is 8-12 hours per day Monday-Thursday and some Fridays. Time and a half paid for any hours over 8 in a day. Employees receive 1 week of paid vacation every 6 months based on average hours during that period. 401(k) plan is available with employer contribution of 3% of gross income regardless of employee contribution.

We work in open air garages with 2 - 3 employees at a time. Masks and sanitizers are provided for all employees.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a position at Golden Gate Garage Storage that will require leadership, initiative, problem solving, hands-on cabinet assembly, material handling, and physical labor. While you're being hired as an Assistant Lead Installation Technician, you are being hired explicitly to learn the business and run your own installation team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead installation team
• Install jobs per design (garage cabinets, floor coatings and patented Monkey Bar storage sytem)
• Ensure high quality workmanship at all times and customer satisfaction
• Read and understand shop drawings and important paperwork
• Show up to work on-time, every day
• Customer interface

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:

Education-

• High school degree or equivalent experience

Experience-

• 2 years installation experience (cabinet/floor coatings preferred)

Other-

• Legal right to work in the United States
• Valid California Driver’s License with clean driving record for 5+ years
• Pass background, drug and physical exam
• Must pass 90-day probationary period for some benefits
• Safely lift 100+ pounds
