Job description
- Amentum is seeking four (4) Law Clerk I's to assist with a backlog of FOIA requests to perform review, coding and redaction of responsive documents in the various Nuix cases, according to the standards and customary workflow of OIP.
- Law Clerk I’s will work in Nuix Investigate conducting searches and analyzing result sets to separate non-responsive documents from responsive documents and to screen responsive documents for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- Requires Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or, an equivalent level of legal training or experience or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
- Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
- Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years’ experience using Nuix Investigate for document review and tagging preferred.
- Two years’ experience in processing FOIA requests for Federal agencies is preferred.
- Fluency in the statutory and regulatory guidelines to FOIA responses as listed in the Requirements section is preferred.
