JOB TITLE/DEPARTMENT: Laundry Attendant / Hospitality and Lodging

POSITION TYPE: Seasonal

WAGE RANGE: $15.00/ hour

SUPERVISORY: No SUPERVISED BY: Lead launder//manager/supervisor


POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for cleaning/preparing linen supply for lodge room and condo unit occupancy in a manner that ensures guests clean and attractive accommodations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance, adhering to Schweitzer's dress code. Operate laundry processing equipment at a level of proficiency resulting in acceptable cleanliness and supply of linen. Deliver processed linens to housekeeping storage rooms, stocking them in a neat and orderly manner. Regularly clean laundry processing equipment and laundry work areas.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager, i.e., vacuuming hallways, cleaning public or employee restrooms, washing windows, cleaning guest accommodations (lodge or condo), and training other employees. Maintain security for guests and hotel by following all security and safety regulations, i.e., cleaning work areas, removing all linen from dryers and turning off equipment at the end of the work day, etc. Knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and activities is a must.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

SKILLS: Knowledge of cleaning procedures

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE: One year work experience preferred

LICENSE NEEDED: None required, valid drivers license insurable by Schweitzer’s insurance carrier preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position demands combined walking/standing/kneeling for up to 8 hours per shift with breaks provided. Lifts up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 35 lbs rarely. Will squat, kneel, and bend frequently; and reach above shoulder level occasionally. Will climb and twist rarely. Hands are used for grasping, pushing and pulling carts. Foot control is used occasionally for vehicles and vacuums. Worksite is 95% inside and 5% outside and is exposed to all temperatures and moisture. Hazards are cleaning chemicals and snow/ice. Sensory skills required are vision, hearing, touching and speech.


MACHINES/TOOLS OPERATED:
Vacuums, extractors, cleaning chemicals, laundry washing and drying machines, 2-way radios, and, possibly, company vehicles

REVIEW SCHEDULE:
This position and the person filling it will be reviewed after 90 days, then evaluated once per year.
