Job description

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for washing, drying, ironing, and/or folding hotel linen for use by departments. Also must ensure linen is in inventory before arrival of Room Attendants.

Qualification Summary:

Experience Requirements:

• Experience with heavy washing equipment preferred.
• Previous hotel experience in housekeeping preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work-exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand for long hours at a time.
• Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by hotel business levels.

Duties and Functions:

• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Radisson Brand standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming, which include wearing a correct name tag and uniform when working.
• Have knowledge and understanding of all department policies and procedures, and communicate and enforce all policies fairly and consistently with staff.
• Sort all linen according to size, type and color.
• Stretch sheets for entry into sheet folder machine.
• Size and stack sheets for distribution to guest floors.
• Ability to determine different sizes and different folds necessary to distribute linen to various departments.
• Ability to operate all equipment in an efficient manner and to practice safety procedures.
• Pre-treat all stained linen before washing.
• Keep work area cleaned and organized.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Attend or all training/meetings as required by management.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $13.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability

Experience:

• housekeeping or laundry: 1 year (Preferred)
