The Position

We are looking for someone to serve as the technical expert for multiple specialized information protection and security programs supporting major DoD, USAF, other Federal Agencies and Foreign Government Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) classified and highly sensitive defense acquisition and intelligence programs.

What You Will Do

• Administer the Information Security program, Industrial Security program, Personnel Security program, and Physical Security program for the organization.
• Administer DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and implements procedures for the classification and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information, originated or controlled by the organization.
• Provide technical and administrative direction to all organization personnel concerning information security activities.
• Provides technical guidance in development of program/project/activity specific requirements in conjunction with Contracting Officers to ensure all solicitations and contracts include the appropriate security clauses and language.
• Ensure uniform execution of the Information Security Program across the organization, to include geographically separated units, and has significant, constructive contact with other agencies and defense industry contractors.
• Enforce local procedures for initiating and processing requests for security clearance investigations for military and civilian personnel
• Provide organization OPSEC guidance, establishing policies and procedures for accomplishment of OPSEC activities.
• Represent organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various Center organizations
• Evaluate new or different types of security systems and equipment for application within the organization

Who You Are

• Demonstrated expertise in developing security procedures for DoD organizations
• Knowledge of DOD, USAF, and MAJCOM security policies
• Experience managing organizational security education and training programs in compliance with multi-level program requirements and meeting AF standard
• Experience administering Intrusion Detection System (IDS) and Entry Control Systems
• Ability to work with and store classified and sensitive information, including information generated or stored in Automated Information Systems (AIS)
• You are a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain at a minimum a Secret-level U.S. Security Clearance

This is a civilian position within the Department of Defense. We hire at GS-12 to GS-13 equivalent levels. This means you can expect a salary of $83,854 to $129,625 (depending on experience) for this Langley AFB, VA position. We also offer paid time off, health, and retirement benefits. There are advancement opportunities to promote to senior levels after hiring.
