Overview
Performs a multitude of general maintenance tasks. Also responsible for ensuring grounds at the RRMC campus are maintained to standard as assigned. Job assignments will include but not limited to: use of push mowing equipment, power edging, blowers and string trimming equipment; mulching, trash pickup/ trash can changing, weeding, leaf removal; assist with hedge trimming, planting, and other landscape jobs. Performs preventive maintenance on equipment such as greasing, oil levels, belt inspections, tire inflation, and cleaning/washing of equipment. Assists other Facilities Engineering Department personnel as needed. Recognizes limitations and seeks assistance in making corrections. Maintains self control when placed in stressful situations. Observes guidelines for meals and breaks. Demonstrates good radio and telephone etiquette. Attends staff meetings. Attends all required in-services, training, and continuing education provided. Completes required CBL modules in Net Learning. Reviews the Facilities Engineering Department Policies and Procedures at least annually. Ability to operate a computer and use computer software. Subject to on-call coverage, shift changes and emergency 12 hour shifts (i.e. snow removal, hurricane clean up, etc.). Snow removal/storm clean-up includes, but is not limited to shoveling and cleaning of entranceways, walkways and parking lots of snow, ice and/or debris. Assists with the clean-up of spills.
