This is an hourly position with a pay rate that is commensurate with experience. This is a full time, year round position with an opportunity for growth at Blossom.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Applies high levels of creativity and craftsmanship to complete construction of superior quality outdoor spaces.

• Working knowledge of landscape construction installation procedures; including, but not limited to: project layout, paver/rock installation, setting boulders, fence installation, retaining walls/steps, water mitigation (drainage), concrete (forms and pour), etc.

• Knowledge of, and mechanical skill with construction equipment; including but not limited to: excavator, bobcat, dump trailer, concrete cutter, brick/paver saw, plate compactor, grinder, sawzall, drills.

• Plans and organizes job with Supervisor, ensuring sufficient resources and materials are available.

• Briefs Supervisor, and makes recommendations, on job status, personnel issues, or client concerns.

• Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including worksite and equipment.

• Completes the job in time-efficient manner meeting company productivity targets.

• Safe operation and skill with driving heavy duty trucks and pulling trailers with loads.

• Working together with a team of one or more employees and directly with managers.

• Maintain a positive, responsive and flexible attitude towards clients and coworkers at all times.

• Professionally represents Blossom at all times.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in various weather conditions - direct sunlight or prevailing rains for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.

• Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day.

Skills and Education:

• Positive attitude A MUST! We love what we do, and like to have fun doing it!

• The preferred applicant will have knowledge of sustainable horticultural/permaculture practices.

• Plant ID skills a big plus.

• Willingness to work, take direction and be a team player.

• This position requires a high school degree or GED, plus a preferred 2-3 year’s experience in the landscaping field.

• Candidate must be able to read and write with good comprehension.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, job planning skills, problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude are a plus.

• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

• Valid Oregon Driver’s License and insurable with company’s agent.

• Oregon CDL a plus.
