Job description
Responsibilities of the Laborer:
Monitor, manage, and provide completion date/time for assigned work orders.
Hang signs inside and outside building.
Replace carpet tiles, legs on stacking chairs.
Minor patching, painting, repairs.
Clean exterior signs.
Install or remove dispensers and other equipment throughout the building.
Load containers into buildings.
Assist engineer in resolving fire door non-compliance issues.
Move items from loading dock to trash or from loading dock to where they belong in the building.
Operate wet vacuum, carpet extractor, during water events.
Take measurements as directed by Facility Manager or Assistant Facility Manager.
All other duties assigned by facility manager.
Skills of the Laborer:
Proven experience as a handyman
Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems
Good communication ability
Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
Attention to detail
- Must be able to work standing up for long periods of time.
- Must have basic interpersonal skills; ability to work in the general public and communicate with co-workers and customers.
- Must have ability to read and speak English.
- Must be able to push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
EXPERIENCE
At least six months related experience and/or training in the cleaning industry preferred.
Physical and Communication Requirements of the Laborer:
Employees are required to obey all warning and safety signs and read labels on cleaning products.
Employee must be able to communicate in English.
