Job Summary:

We are seeking Laborer-CDL drivers to join our team. Must have a valid Class A driver’s license and willing to work on a construction crew. The Laborer/Class A driver will be responsible for transporting heavy machinery and materials needed at various job sites throughout the area and must be willing to work on a crew assisting in construction activities. NOTE: This position is NOT solely a Class A driving position. Physical labor and or operating heavy equipment is a requirement of this position.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
• Help equipment operator and other skilled labor when necessary.
• Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
• Load or unload construction materials.
• Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
• Remove, fill, or compact earth, restore and repair all disturbed property.
• Follow instructions from supervisors.
• Assist craft workers.
• Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
• Perform site clean-up.
• Travels to and from job sites
• Loads and unloads materials on truck
• Performs all phases of general and underground construction include but are not limited to loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment
• Restores and repairs all disturbed property
• Operates and/or works around heavy equipment and machinery such as, Backhoe, Jack Hammer, Jumping Jack, Hole Hog, Roto Hammer, Cut-Off Saw, Portable Water Pump, Saws-All, pedestals, cables, plastic conduit, shovel, rake, sledgehammer, pipe wrench, wire cutters, bolt cutters, cable cutters, drilling shafts, etc.
• Always maintains safe working habits/conditions
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A driver's license
• Experience in telecommunications or underground utilities industry is a plus.
• Working knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical equipment

Physical Demand:

• Must be able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions
• Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds
• Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
• Must be able to operate or workaround heavy equipment and machinery
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing work
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders
• Must be able to work in small/confined areas
• Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $29.00 per hour

• Tualatin, OR: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• CDL A (Preferred)
