Texas Southern Drilling is a water well drilling contractor with 30+ years of experience in the industry. Our company operates top notch equipment and has a fully knowledgeable team of drillers with a mission to provide clean, safe, and reliable water sources to our customers. We operate modern hydraulic equipment allowing faster and smoother production for our team and our customers on residential and commercial projects.

Our operation is based out of Columbus, TX and regularly services the greater surrounding areas of Houston, areas between Houston and southern San Antonio and areas up towards Washington County. As we continue to grow, our reach will continue to expand.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Lead Technicians on the full cycle process of drilling, installing and quality checking new water wells. This individual must bring a positive attitude and sense of humor to work every day, adding to the work hard/play hard mentality of the team.

General Responsibilities include:

• Daily travel as a ride along to drilling site. Travel time varies and may exceed 2 hours each way on rare occasion.
• Assist with pump installation and general help.
• Lift and carry equipment and cement bags weighing up to 100 lbs. short distances, as needed within the job site
• Be a general hand for the Lead Technicians on site
• Find additional ways to add value to the production of the team and the efficiency of our processes
• Must be willing to complete the OSHA 30 Certification upon hire, if not already OSHA 30 Certified
• Fill limited downtime with value adding tasks

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:

• Experience with drilling equipment or hydraulic equipment a plus but not required
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, a plus but not required
• Experience working in the elements/Texas heat.
• Prior mechanical experience, a plus
• Experience working with hydraulic machinery, a plus
• Willingness to work flexible hours Monday through Friday and very occasional Saturdays
• Valid Texas driver’s license required

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

• Ability to comfortably lift and carry up to 50 lbs., required
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 100 lbs. very short distances
• Driving to customer properties in the extended surrounding areas of Houston. Examples include: Sealy, El Campo, Eagle Lake, and East Bernard
• Sitting in a vehicle for long drives
• Standing and moving for long hours on the job site
• Job sites are primarily in unoccupied open land. It will be dirty, muddy and contain wild animals.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
