Job Summary
South Mountain Community College is hiring a part-time, Laboratory Technician.
Provides support for the Physical Sciences academic laboratory by preparing and maintaining related equipment, facility space, supplies, computers, and other resources used for instructional purposes. The applicant will be performing lab computations, maintaining, and updating documentation, and utilizing computer software to compose documents and spreadsheets.
Essential Functions
40% - Prepares and sets up work areas and instructional equipment and supplies.
10% - Monitors, maintains and services equipment, facility space, supplies, computers, and other resources used for instructional purposes.
10% - Assists faculty members with basic operational needs in support of academic laboratory instruction.
10% - Monitors and assures safety procedures are adhered to in the use of equipment, instructional space, and other resources.
10% - Maintains supplies inventory and storage areas.
10% - Receives and responds to information request and inquiries.
10% - Performs other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
High School Diploma and laboratory experiences such as maintaining equipment, facility space, supplies or other resources used for laboratory purposes in area of assignment.
Special Working Conditions
Position requires constant kneeling, crouching, carrying, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be comfortable with repetitive motions and prolonged periods of standing.
