Position: Label Rewind Operator

Location: Plant City, FL

Hours: 4:45pm-5:15am 4 days on/4 days off

Pay Rate: $15.65 + .50 shift differential

The Label Rewind will report to the Label manager and will be responsible for safely operating multiple high-speed labeling machines in a safe manner.


Job Summary

Performs machine operator tasks in the set-up, maintenance and operations of rewinding equipment. Inspects, repairs and processes finished labels.

  • Reviews work order package and contents to ensure conformity to written and verbal instructions.
  • Mounts roll onto rewinder and sets up according to requirements.
  • Secures approval from supervisor after set-up.
  • Performs in-process inspection, specific requirements and frequency determined by supervisor upon approval.
  • Segregates defects according to departmental procedures.
  • Follows all department procedures and work instructions.
  • Operates equipment in safe and cost effective manner.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Ensures compliance with company safety rules and policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to read a blueprint.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions

  • The physical demands required while performing the duties of this job include required regularly to sit, talk, and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee must sometimes lift/ or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is exposed to heat and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
