Title: Lab Technician
Job Type: Full time

Salary: $ 50000-65000/ Yearly + 3 % Bonus/Year
Shift: 9 am to 5pm
Job Description:
The Lab Technician supports new product development (design, process and validation) and sustaining engineering activities. Builds protypes and performs validation testing. Fabricates components, equipment and tooling to support prototyping and validation. Transfers knowledge to the production team during production startup and provides troubleshooting support throughout production.
Responsibilities:
- Provides estimates for completion of assigned tasks and reports own progress.
- Assembles product according to blueprints and specifications. Documents detailed parameters throughout the assembly process. Reports findings and results of product build.
- Supports issue resolution at manufacturing sites and field service / warranty of production products by analyzing and reporting findings of suspect components and assemblies.
- Sets up validation tests according to test procedures. Executes and monitors tests in accordance to the procedure and documents the results. Operates test and data acquisition equipment.
- Disassembles and inspects products with the intent to uncover potential issues or establish root cause of product non-conformance. Provides detailed documentation and measurement of all findings.
- Safely utilizes various hand tools, bench top tools, CNC machinery, manual mill and lathe equipment to construct complex components, fixtures and tools following supplied blueprints.
- Conceptualizes mechanical, electromechanically, electrohydraulic, fluid handling and pneumatic machinery systems. Translates requirements of test systems or mechanical assembly processes into safely functioning tooling and equipment by specifying and fabricating various subsystems and incorporating readily available industrial products and instruments.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-year degree at a vocational school in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics (or similar).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a development, manufacturing, field service role.
- Proficiency in both manual and CNC machining.
- Technical aptitude in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of control systems (PLC, LabView, Digital Logic, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated problem solving ability.
- Ability to use common Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel.
