Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in MLT, Medical Technology, or a related science area from an accredited college or university. Current certification MLT, MT, MLS (ASCP or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Two to three years of supervisory or team lead experience required.
- Strong working knowledge of CLIA, COLA and relevant state regulations
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
- Effective communication skills; both written and verbal
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
Responsibilities
- In this position, you will work in a fast paced, client-driven, challenging environment, and will be a part of our mission to ensure our physicians have the tools necessary to provide excellent care to their patients. Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Operations Manager and/or Laboratory Director, the Specimen Processor shift supervisor is responsible for directly supervising specimen processing/data entry operations during assigned shift and performing required procedures in a timely and accurate manner according to established laboratory and departmental policies and procedures.
- The schedule for this position will be third shift Monday-Friday from 9pm-6am and weekends when needed
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Specimen Processing department
- Ensure data entry and specimen processing is accurately completed in a timely manner
- Directly supervise, train, and mentor specimen processing personnel.
- Monitor daily workflow in specimen processing and schedule adequate coverage
- Ensure all shifts in the department are properly staffed
- Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
- Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
- Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
- Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their team’s development
- Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
- Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
- Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
- Process and maintain personnel files
- Perform administrative duties as needed
- Starting pay at $25 per hour, health/dental/vision insurance, 401k, and a particularly good PTO offering.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $52,000.00 - $62,400.00 per year
