Job Summary/Basic Function
Assist faculty course coordinators and graduate teaching assistants in the following laboratory biology courses: BIOL 1031,1111, and 1121. Maintain an office near the laboratories. Maintain and order supplies and equipment for these laboratories. Assist in weekly sessions with teaching assistants and course supervisors. Assist in assessment of laboratory effectiveness, make recommendations for improvements to laboratory instruction, develop and test new laboratory exercises, inventory supplies and help maintain computers and other equipment used in these laboratories. Work with stockroom clerk to ensure orders received and transported to the proper laboratory and made available to instructors. Work with/assist Dual Enrollment instructors from the area. Teach at least one lab section of one of these courses each semester. Perform other related tasks or special projects as assigned, Insure that all activities and spaces adhere to State and Federal safety regulations and guidelines.
Required Education
Masters degree in biology or a closely related field.
Required Related Experience
Participation in teaching or supervising biology laboratories for minimum of one (1) year.
Desirable Related Experience
Participation in teaching or supervising biology laboratories for a minimum of one (1) year.
